North Carolina Employee Scholarship Winners

On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, the North Carolina Scholarship Awards luncheon was held at Pine Needles Golf Club in Southern Pines, honoring the Lumber Bridge complex, growers, breeders, and grain recipients of North Carolina. The event had a total of 39 attendees including members of the selection committees, management, and family members of the nine scholarship recipients.

The luncheon kicked off with a welcome speech by Megan Stolle, Complex Human Resources Manager. Megan reviewed the agenda with the group and introduced the key speaker, Trent Reynolds, Director of Processing Operations. Trent gave a heartwarming speech about embarking on a new journey and the accomplishments the students have achieved. The theme of Trent’s speech highlighted the book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss. Trent read quotes from the book to students and encouraged students to look to their future and never give up. The students and guests enjoyed Trent’s highly encouraging and supportive speech. Following the speech, everyone enjoyed lunch and fellowship. After dessert, awards were presented. Jennifer Jackson, Human Resources Administrator, read the biographies of each recipient. The complex and grain winners were presented by Trent Reynolds. Gerald White, Director of Breeders, presented the grower and breeder scholarships. The event ended with closing remarks from Megan Stolle and Trent Reynolds, thanking everyone for their participation and one last congratulations to the winners.
