MILLSBORO, DE – April 22, 2021 – The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) yesterday further delayed an election by UFCW Local 27 and our employees at our Selbyville plant. The vote last July will be thrown out, and they have to start again.
We are disappointed for our employees who courageously stood up to the union and fought for their rights. This decision is only a delay of what we believe will be inevitable: a real vote that will show our employees’ true feelings regarding union representation.
The issue was whether our employees could have a vote. Now the vote is delayed until at least December.
At the end of the day, the goal should simply be to let our employees’ voices be heard. Whatever their decision, we support the right to vote. This is a sad day for employee rights and free elections in this country.
