Holiday Meal Program to Feed More than 60,000 People in 4 States

SELBYVILLE, DE – March 27, 2023 – Mountaire Farms is partnering with hundreds of churches and non-profits in four states to provide complete meals for families in need at Easter.

Each Mountaire Cares box can feed a family of four. They are stuffed with a plump Mountaire roaster chicken, canned corn, peas and carrots, macaroni and cheese, apple sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy, and brownies for dessert. They will be distributed to groups from Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.

On Delmarva, Mountaire’s annual Easter for Thousands event will be held on Wednesday, April 5th, starting at 8 am. More than 150 volunteers will help pack 5,000 meal boxes – with enough food to feed 20,000 people. There will be no walk-ups for this event, as all boxes are already reserved for families, churches and non-profits.

In Siler City, NC, our Easter for Thousands event will be held on Friday, March 31st, starting at 9 am. Employees and volunteers will be packing and distributing 5,000 meal boxes to pre-registered groups.There will be no walk-ups for this event, as all boxes are already reserved for families, churches and non-profits.

In Lumber Bridge, NC, our Easter for Thousands event will be held on Saturday, April 1st, at Power Point Church in Lumberton, NC. Employees and volunteers will be packing and distributing 5,000 meal boxes to pre-registered groups. There will be no walk-ups for this event, as all boxes are already reserved for families, churches and non-profits.

The Easter event is part of the company’s signature Meals for Thousands program which also feeds people at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
