During COVID-19, our team mobilized to quickly respond to the needs of our local communities. When suddenly thousands of people were out of work, and not knowing when the next paycheck would arrive, the need for food skyrocketed. We partnered with hundreds of local organizations to supply chicken to those in need. We helped feed children at local Boys and Girls Clubs and sent a 10-pound bag with parents at several locations. We worked with Project Kudos and Schell Brothers to deliver chicken and other products to families in need by bus, neighborhood by neighborhood. We reached out to hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities, and gave chicken to our health care workers who were working long hours and couldn’t get to the grocery store to buy food for their families. And we worked with churches, and food pantries and community groups who quickly stepped up to feed the most vulnerable in our communities. To date we’ve donated more than 665,000 pounds during the COVID-19 crisis.
